Life happens sometimes...

Well we've had some crazy stuff happen in the past couple weeks. Not gonna go into detail about it but I know it has made our marriage stronger and also has made us appreciate family even more. We are staying with David & Natalie for a bit while Logan is between jobs, and we couldn't be more grateful to them. Family really is the coolest thing in the world. I am so thankful for the family I have, we are strong and willing to do anything for eachother. I am grateful to my Father in Heaven for blessing me with such an amazing family.
Yesterday Blake and Logan left for Mesquite to help my dad with a few things at Canyon View (the mobile home park). That means that last night was the first night Logan and I have been apart since we were married. I know I know it's not a big deal, but it was weird. I miss him!
Other than that we both are back in school and loving it. We are taking a Geology class together and it's a lot of fun.
We've decided that so far....we don't like 2009! I hope 2009 is treating everyone else better than it's treating us so far. :)

Merry Christmas

Today is Christmas Eve and both Logan and I are working. Luckily it's just 'til 1p.m. and then we are headed to Salina for the weekend. Work is really slow for me today so I have had a lot of time to think...
I'm reading the book Standing for Something by Gordon B. Hinckley, if you haven't read this book, I highly recommend it. It's taken me a long time to read because I just read a few pages when I get to work early. But I feel like every page has something inspiring and encouraging. A quote from the book has been a great inspiration to me, though it is small it is powerful. "Be not faithless, but believing." I know that with the Lord on our side we can do anything. Logan and I have been so blessed this year. Logan finished his mission, we dated, both got in more schooling, moved a few times, got MARRIED in the temple and have a great relationship. We feel we are so blessed because we have relied on the Lord for strength. Without the knowledge of this great Gospel in our lives we would not be where we are now. I know that through prayer and scripture study the Lord blesses our lives and guides us in the direction we should go. "There is no greater thing we could do than to increase out faith in the Almighty, and to appeal to Him regularly through personal and family prayer." We have felt an increase of faith the past few months as we have studied the scriptures and prayed together. If you are struggling with anything I know that if you get on your knees and pray and study your scriptures the Lord will open doors for you and bless you with peace and happiness.
As we learn something new about marriage everyday I feel this quote from President Hinckley will continue to encourage us, "marriage involves a willingness to overlook weaknesses and mistakes." Logan is a great example to me, he continues to look past my sensitivity everyday and love me regardless. So far our relationship is very strong, we love eachother very much and thank the Lord daily for our eternal marriage. Everything we know already about marriage I believe we have learned from our parents examples. We are so blessed to have such great parents, one more quote from President Hinckley. This quote sums up what I believe our parents are to us. Speaking of parents, "stand together as their guardians, their protectors, their guides, their anchors." I thank both my parents and my new in-laws for being our supporters, we wouldn't be in the position we are in today without their loving support. We are both grateful for the parents and siblings we have. We love you all and thank you for everything you do for us. We are so blessed to have such wonderful caring families who show us through their examples how to love eachother.
Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving...a little late!

Logan and I decided to surprise my parents and drive down to California for Thanksgiving. Nobody knew we were coming, we did a good job of keeping it a secret. So when we pulled in the driveway around 11pm my parents thought it was Blake who was also coming home for the holiday. But to their surprise...it was Logan and me! When they saw us my dad just laughed and laughed and they couldn't believe we came. It was fun surprising them and it was a great weekend in California. Not to mention the amazing weather! Here are some pictures of our weekend.

Blake, Uncle Bill, Nathan, Mario, Lani, & Lani's sister making yummy food for us to enjoy.

The next three pictures are really similar, but look close. Logan was more interested in the camera than the great food I think! Silly guy posing with his lovely goblet! The missionaries joined us for Thanksgiving too.

Blake, Nathan, & Logan were a little excited about making some Limeaid!!

Still dancin' away!

My cousin Mario and I

My mom sent me this picture, oh I miss Christmas at home. But this year will be fun cause we get to spend it with Logan's family. This will be my first Christmas away from home.

Happy Holidays everyone!

COLDPLAY!

Not this last weekend but the weekend before we got to see COLDPLAY with my family at Energy Solutions in Salt Lake City. It was AMAZING, I have never been to a concert like that. It was a memory that will last a lifetime.
Kara and I are both missing from this pic but it's Logan, Zac, Mom, Dad, Madelyn, & Blake in the pic.

There was an HD screen behind the band and it was incredibly clear.

Me & Log. You can't see them but the guy and girl behind Logan were sleeping during the concert! Can you believe that?!?! We were like you're nuts, your one chance to see Coldplay and you sleep through it! Crazy.

Closer to the end of the concert they came up into the audience and played a few songs. They were about 10 yards from us, quite amazing.

This is a short short clip of when they played in the stands. I had a video of the song Fix You but it was too long to put on here. So anyway here's a short clip for your enjoyment. No zooming on this clip-they were so close!

Last weekend

Happy Birthday Nathan! Last weekend a bunch of us went out to dinner for Nathan's b-day. I was lucky enough to convince Logan to get dessert, and not just any dessert, my favorite dessert! Chili's Molten Chocolate Cake! YUM! Anyway we had a great time spending Nathan's birthday with him and watching him open all the funky presents he got from David & Keith.

When we went to St. George for Halloween we made a quick stop on the way back. We stopped in Cedar City to grab some food and to walk around for a bit. The picture below is a statue of my great great great great grandma (I think that's enough great's), Ellen Pucille Unthank, at the SUU campus in Cedar City. She crossed the plains as a young girl and got frost bite on her legs. She later had to have them amputated at the knee, she spent the rest of her life walking on her knees. Such an amazing pioneer, she is one of my heroes.

This weekend we're going to the Coldplay concert we've had tickets for since JULY! Holy moly it's finally here...woohoo!! We'll post some new pics cause the fam is all up for the concert. We love you Ryan and Lani and wish you were here with us.

Updates

It's been awhile since I've updated our blog. I was waiting to get pictures so I could post them with this and it took longer than expected, sorry :)
So for Halloween Logan and I got all dressed up and drove to St. George for the play Thriller at Tuacahn. Logan was an 80's rocker decked out with a black mullet wig, tight tight ripped black jeans, a t-shirt, and a fabulous jean vest. He was pretty rockin! I was a devil's angel. See I wanted to be an angel but then I saw a red wig and I kind of had to go the opposite direction. So I got some red wings and wore all black with my wings and red bob style wig. I'm not gonna lie, we looked ridiculous but we had a great time. My wig made me look like I was about 12 and Logan looked like he was totally comfortable being a rocker! We met my parents at Outback for some yummy steak then drove up to Tuacahn for the play. Tuacahn is in a canyon, so rock walls surround you, it's beautiful. We stayed the night down there and visited Logan's sister Brandi and her husband Roudy and of course...cute little Presley on Saturday before heading home to Provo.
Lately we've been busy getting ready for school next semester. There is so much to do, it's crazy. I've had to fill out an incredible amount of forms to apply for residency, I wish it weren't so hard! But in the end, my tuition will be less than half the price, so it's worth it.
We're going to a Coldplay concert with my family next Saturday and we cannot wait!!
We're also excited for Thanksgiving, we get to spend the day with Logan's side of the family down in St. George. Plus we get to eat all day, who could ask for more?!
